Because everyone loves chocolate chip cookies

I'm on a mission to find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe.  Why?  Because everyone loves cookies.  Especially chocolate ones.

To say that I love baking would be an understatement.  There is something about it that can turn any bad day in to a good one.  And few things are better than a little bit of cookie dough.  In order to turn a stressful day in to a relaxed one, I made these gems.

Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking power
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
milk chocolate chips (I used 12 oz)

Lets Make 'Em:
Cream butter, oil, and sugars.  Add the eggs and stir that shit together.
Add all the dry stuff.
Bake 350 for 7-8 minutes. (I baked them a few minutes extra... possibly because I made them monster size)

These babies turned out quite delicious.  Joe and the rest of the Engineering students agreed (so they told me).

I'm not quite convinced these are the BEST cookies I have ever had, but they will do for now!  If anyone knows of a recipe that puts this one to shame, let me know!

Until then, happy baking.

Sunday Snow Day

Days like today make me appreciate the Northwest.  Washington, or at least Bellingham, doesn't get snow often. When we do get a winter wonderland, it makes for one fun snow day.  Today Joe and I ventured in to the white fluff and explored some of our favorite places in town.

First, we started off at the bay. (The big field by Anthony's restaurant).

Needless to say, it was freezing!  The side wind combined with large flakes of snow made for a cold face!  My solution for this:

(Joe was my walking guide)

Next stop: Fairhaven and breakfast at Harris Ave Cafe.
(My favorite breakfast in Bellingham)

The day ended with a nice walk through some trails... where I repeatedly slipped.  I cannot remember the last time I giggled so much.  Snow seemed to be just what I needed!

Google searches: Men vs. Women.

Recently I saw this advertisement...

I thought it would be interesting to compare it to my own incomplete Google searches.  This is what I found:

I typed in “Men should…” or “Men cannot…” and nothing appears for the rest of your search.

Do the same thing for “Women should…” or “Women cannot…” and the results are completed for you.

These pictures are screen shots from my search twenty minutes ago.

Some places and spaces.

Some of my favorite places, lookouts, & frequent stops.

                                           Chuckanut Lookout Point.                Parker, AZ.

                                             State Capital.                      Boulevard Park, Bellingham.

Canon Beach, OR.                     Grand Coulee, WA.

Western Washington University.      Avellino Coffee, Bellingham.

The Beginning.

Where to start?

I must admit that I started this blog on a whim and this is a new territory for me. Disclaimer: I am not a writing expertise... but I can give it a shot, right?  Although I have always been an enthusiast of journals and writing my thoughts down, I figure I would explore the world of online blogging.  This blog is to express the excerpts of my mind, to learn more about myself and others, and to share what it is like to live in the Pacific Northwest.  Even if I am sharing to a nonexistence audience, I will be ecstatic to get all of my thoughts, adventures, stories, etc. gathered in to one place.  With all of that said.... Lets start this shit.
